The Farm:
Spray Creek Ranch is a regenerative organic farm in Lillooet, BC. We are BC Certified Organic and Animal Welfare Approved, and we sell our meats at farmers’ markets and restaurants throughout the Sea to Sky. Learn more at spraycreek.ca.
The Position:
We are seeking a part-time assistant for our farmers’ markets in Pemberton, Whistler and Squamish. Experience in retail, sales or service is a must, and a background in agriculture or butchery is an asset. Applicant must be able to travel to farmers’ market locations; there is a possibility of ride share from Pemberton. Starting wage is $15.25/hr, with opportunity for a raise June 1. We will also cover some travel costs and offer a 10% discount on all Spray Creek Ranch products.
Responsibilities include:
- assist with market display set-up and take-down
- interact with customers and answer questions
- fetch orders and run the till
Times & Locations:
We start farmers’ markets the weekend of April 10 – 12 and continue every second weekend until the weekend of October 9 – 11 for a total of 14 weekends. In April, only the Squamish Farmers’ Market is operating. In May the Whistler Farmers’ Market starts, and the Pemberton Farmers’ Market commences in June. The hours we need assistance at each market are as follows:
Pemberton Farmers’ Market – 2:45 pm – 6:45 pm Friday (4 hr)
Squamish Farmers’ Market – 9:30 am – 3:30 pm Saturday (6 hr)
Whistler Farmers’ Market – 10:00 am – 4:00 pm Sunday (6 hr)
Preference will be given to an applicant who can work at all three markets, but consideration will be given to hiring multiple assistants, so please apply even if you cannot commit to all locations.
